AN UPSIDE-DOWN HOUSE (Brokenness and Love)

A young girl at age 3 starts a life of heartbreak believing her mother is dying and going to heaven where God is waiting she was told. Through seemingly insurmountable odds, including an abusive father, mother’s mental illness, and neglect and abandonment, she and her siblings manage to reach adulthood. Due to shame, there is no one they can turn to because their unspeakable experiences and distorted reality could not be shared with others outside the home. As a young mother, she hopes to rise above her past but faces a future of more strife and struggle. A baby diagnosed with a terminal illness, a premature infant, and other circumstances force her to relive her deep dread of loss, terror, and pain from long ago. Experiencing more heartbreak, she turns away from God whose relationship she had grown to fear. She is convinced either God doesn’t know her, or he doesn’t care. When hope is impossible, faith is unheard of, and trust is nonexistent, there is only one way out.

Space

A Polish mathematician and astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus discovered the planet Earth. Before Copernicus' ideas, people thought that the other planets, stars and the Sun rotated around the Earth. Ancient astronomers found that the planets wouldn't follow a straight path in the sky but would instead continually move forward, stop then move backwards, which caused the Greek astronomer Ptolemy to hypothesise that the planets are spherical in shape and rotate in small circles while moving around the Earth. Copernicus' model went against this belief and took years to be recognised by the scientific community. As the only known planet that is habitable for human beings, the Earth’s importance is self-evident. Every living organism known to science obtains all of its resources from Earth, and has very few other options available. Without the Earth, humans would be doomed to extinction, unless they were able to adapt to another planet's conditions before the Earth disappeared.

Drills are identified by the diameter of the hole that they cut.

7. What is countersink drill used for?
Countersink is used when screwheads or rivets must be set below the surface of work.

8. Redraw the countersink drill and the hole it drills.

9. Describe the steps needed when drilling large holes or drilling accurately.
Lay out as for general hole drilling. Then scribe a witness circle of the exact diameter of the drill from the marked centre. Don't punch where the centre lines intersect the circle. This will provide witness or check points both during and after drilling the hole.

The first Manga-like images appeared in the late eighteenth-century Japan, when a growing middle class of merchants (sellers) had developed markets for villages (old-school malls!).

The name of the artist who is influential is Osamu Tezuka, known in Japan as the "god of manga". Tezuka has a popular creation and it was the "Mighty Atom", it is known throughout the world.

HHS LIFESTYLE (Pizza Swirls)

Pizza Swirls

Ingredients

50g butter

2 cups flour

1Tbl baking powder

½ tsp salt

¾ -1 cup milk

1 cup grated cheese

½ onion

2 rashers bacon or ham slices

1 tsp oil

½ cup tomato puree or pasta sauce

1tsp mixed herbs or chopped parsley

Method

1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees° bake or 200 degrees fan bake.
2. Shift the flour, baking powder and salt into a medium sized bowl.
3. Cut butter into small pieces (grated if cold) and rub with your fingertips into the flour mixture until the mixture looks like large breadcrumbs.
4. Make a well in the middle of flour mixture and pour in most of the milk.
5. Mix with a bread knife until the mixture binds together.
6. Add more milk if necessary and use your hands at the end to help combine the dough into ball shape.
7. Place dough onto a lightly floured board and roll into a rectangle type shape (35cmx22cm).
8. Chop the onion and bacon or ham into small pieces and sauté in a small fry pan or saucepan with a t of oil.
9. Spread the tomato puree or sauce over the rolled out dough and arrange the onion and bacon on top.
10. Sprinkle grated cheese and mixed herbs.
11. Roll up the rectangle dough with the filling inside.
12. Cut it into even sized circles about 3cm in width and place face down on a greased oven tray.
13. Bake for 12-15min until they are golden and smell cooked.
14. Remove from oven and let cool for 5min.

Arthropods

An arthropod is an invertebrate animal having an exoskeleton, a segmented body, and paired jointed appendages. Arthropods form the phylum Arthropoda, which includes insects, arachnids, myriapods, and crustaceans.

Arachnid Arthropods - are a class of joint-legged invertebrate animals, in the subphylum Chelicerata. All arachnids have eight legs, although the front pair of legs in some species has converted to a sensory function.

Insect Arthropods - are by far the largest group of hexapod invertebrates within the arthropod phylum. Definitions and circumscriptions vary; in one approach insects comprise a class within the Phylum Arthopoda.

Crustacean Arthropods - Crustaceans form a large, diverse arthropod taxon which includes such familiar animals as crabs, lobsters, crayfish, shrimp, krill, woodlice and barnacles.
