Be an App creator!

Hi everyone! On the past few weeks, our class were taught on how to do an app in applab. Mr. Carter split us up into groups of 3-4 to create an app and we had to explore and learn how the codes will work.

Let me introduce you our ever first app 'W.O.R.D'! Our W.O.R.D. or Web On Reducing Depression app might not be the perfect app but we are happy and proud of what we had done. The important thing is that we did our best even though we had a hard time with it, the group strive to finish it.

Reflection
The group's first plan was to create a chatbot or communicating app. We had a lot of ideas and suggestions shared with the group such as the features of the app (-can secure the password of the users, -they can delete the messages, -they can save quotes and sayings that the app character will give them, -they can save conversation, and -colorful background with sparkles and meaningful words) and the designs (step by step of using the app). We tried creating it but then we struggled doing it. Since we can't apply our ideas on making a chatbot and we don't want to waste our time on just thinking for another app we could do, we asked our teacher, Mr. Carter for some suggestion and this is what he gave us:

When this was explained to us, we discussed as a group to change our first plan with this new one. And because our app is about helping depress people, we made it as the center (HUB) of the features. Everyone in the group had a role on creating this app (the leader of the group 'Roanne' will be starting to make the background and design of the app, 'Ofa' will be going to take a research about the theme for our app, while 'me and Wardah' are going to be exploring applab). At first we're a bit worried because on that time all of us must be starting on coding, but then we managed our time working on it.

Ultimately the app was been finalize. I am proud to be part of the group and at the same time, glad that we succeed this project because everyone in the group participated and shared some mind-blowing ideas.

After we finish the app, we ask some feedback from other students and this is what they said:

" That was good, that will get people to try and help themselves throughout their sufferings. It was good you or your group added many ways that could help others get through depression. "     - Lenora

"I love how you put some photo of quotes for depression. This reminds me that when you are experiencing depression, this app may help them, but some of the figures in your app is not working, for example, the videos and games. I hope you read my concerns to make your app more better, attractive and interactive."     - Thamhie

"Your app is fantastic, it gives information about depression and has many functions. The thing is, the design of your app, I suggest you could improve it in a way wherein it is catchy to people's eyes and that even by just looking at it makes us distress. Also, I think you can fix your game options, too. I'm looking forward to your wonderful works soon."     - Lovely

Questions:
Have you tried making an app before?
If you are going to create an app, what kind of app will you do? Educational apps, Gaming apps, Business apps, Lifestyle apps, Entertainment apps, Utility apps, or Travel apps?

  1. Hey Devie. This is a good start to a quality post. You have touched on some great ideas but you needed to go into greater critical analysis on the process and work on your grammar. Overall, a good effort.
