Growing NZ Innovation Challenge

Hi everyone! For the past 5 weeks of term three, we have been working on this project. In this blog, I am going to share my experience with developing and understanding the issues and effects of growing an industry. The class was split into six groups and those groups contained 3-4 people. There are Wardah, Ofa, Roanne and me in the group. Each group needs to take a challenge with a problem and will make a solution about it. Our group have chosen the topic 'Careers and Capabilities', the problem was 'The primary sector is struggling to seek for young people to reach capability requirements to ensure that agri-science and business industry remain sustainable and productive' and our group challenge was to develop a solution for what the primary sector needs to do attract more youth to the agri-science and business industries. Then a solution came up with the group, and it is to use big data and virtual reality to publicize and nurture agri-science and business industries.

Reflection
As we do this project, I can say that we really worked hard for it, because each of every members laid their time and efforts in it. We are very contented and happy that we finished the project successfully. All of the stress and worries changed into a peaceful mind and bright smiles. We did have struggles from the time that we chose the topic until the day we presented it to the class. We as a group, we're proud of what we have accomplished, especially of Ofa, our group leader. She managed to handle the project and the group.

For me, the hardest part of undertaking this project was the time when we are doing our prototype which is the VR box. It took us one and half an hour to complete it, but the result is worthy. The group also had trouble on researching about the topic, but a huge thanks to our teacher Mr. Carter who gave us an idea to sort it out. At the beginning, the group was a little bit confused. But Mr. Carter made us understand about what we actually need to do.

It is hard for the group to adjust because, we didn't have Wardah during the time that we are doing the project. Although she didn't worked with us, at least she had a part on choosing the topic at the start. On the day that we presented, I felt a little bit nervous. However, that nervousness inside me, vanished. We confidently showed our presentation to the class and we are well pleased for their feedback. This experience was challenging for the group and also for the class. There is one thing I learned about this lesson, it is the importance of agri-science and business industry.
